In 2016 Classic Alfa displayed at the London Classic Car Show their recreation of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale based upon moulds taken from an aluminium body produced from the original Stradale Prototipo buck.
The design features four headlights, large side vents, dihedral-butterfly style doors and large glass canopy, built based upon a Lotus-Vauxhall VX220 /Opel Speedster chassis and running gear with an option for a custom tubular chassis.
GM/Lotus derived power would be provided by rear mid-mounted 4-cyl 2.2litre (145hp) or turbocharged 2.0 litre (200hp) engines with a 5-speed manual transmission. The VXR220 would produce 220hp.
The composite carbon / GRP body package comprises front and rear clam shell’s plus central body section and doors plus a complete glass and Perspex screen set inc headlight covers.
Limited production is planned of only 33 body sets with production commencing 2019/20 at the rate of 10-12 sets per year.
