Many car manufacturers are willing to share with the world community their long-term plans for further development, thus “warming up” the interest in the brand. Cadillac was no exception. Stephen K. Carlisle, president of the company, said that by 2030 they can completely abandon traditional gasoline engines, which will have to replace electrified models. In addition, it was said that the current indices in the abbreviation of brand cars will soon change their proper names, as it was before.
It is worth noting that at the current stage of the company’s development, such statements about global electrification look very ambitious, given the fact that in the next decade the manufacturer will enter exclusively with traditional ICEs. Even the recent hybrid ELR coupe simply did not accept the market, and Cadillac didn’t have any “clean” electric cars at all. Nevertheless, Stephen K. Carlisle said that such a “reset” will take place at the pace that the target audience of the brand and the global market as a whole require.
The concept of an electric crossover presented by the company at the beginning of this year can be considered a kind of pioneer in this regard. In serial form, he will have to appear in a year or two.
