The first reports on the development of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye date back to last year. Some time ago, an American manufacturer posted a publication on social networks that mentioned Charger Redeye, to which a photo of the standard version of Hellcat was attached. Soon the post was called erroneous and removed, but insiders say that Redeye may be released this summer.
It is expected that the novelty will be equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 compressor engine (808 horsepower and 959 Newton meters), borrowed from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye coupe. To date, the most powerful Charger is the “anniversary” version of the SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary, in which an eight-cylinder unit generates 727 horsepower and 881 Newton meters of torque. The rear-wheel drive sedan is equipped with an eight-band automatic transmission.
The previous special versions of Charger and Challenger were shown at various summer auto shows. Thus, the public debut of Charger Redeye can take place over several months. It is worth noting that the paparazzi have more than once seen on American roads and Charger Widebody tracks without decals. It is possible that it was Redeye.
